Why do people try to force people to smile?

Lol I'm getting alot of push back cause when I take a picture and most the time I pose I don't smile, and people be like why aren't you smiling and I tell them I only smile when I'm actually happy about something and they be like you need to smile why do people force people to smile when they don't want too especially in pictures

If you want to look approachable, smile.

If you want to look like a drill sargeant harassing his trainees in boot camp, frown.

If you want to lean toward the latter, look neutral withba touch of frown.
