Being born into a Baptist home, and finding out about Nietzsche in my teens.

@SW-User odd combo.

@SW-User You say: "Being born into a Baptist home, and finding out about Nietzsche in my teens."

What did that do to you? How do you interpret Nietzsche?
SW-User
@emiliya complicated things to start off with, having times where i embraced faith, and times when i wasn't wanting anything to do with it.
SW-User
@popmol they clashed for sure!!
SW-User
@emiliya oh i forgot to say how i intrepret him, well i see him as being an expert on Perspectivalism, being able to see things in a wide array of manners, whereas a Christian outlook can only really see things in 1 manner.

@SW-User Nietzsche was the progenitor of Nazism. That kind of perspective the world can do without.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 The Nazi's made use of his philosophy that would have made Nietzsche vomit.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@SW-User No. Nietzsche would have had nothing to say about it. The Nazis were simply following his ideas. Nietzsche would have had to refute all of his teachings to go against the Nazis. Yes Nazism is evil but so was Nietzsche's teachings. Funnily enough it is the antithesis of the Christian teachings.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hippyjoe1955 you know people can have aligned views yet be completely opposed to each other right?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@popmol The Nazis took their ideas from Nietzsche. Theirs is the logical conclusion of his thoughts.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hippyjoe1955 idealic view and original communism is a great perfect thing, in practice only ever made into a hellhole.

idealic and original view of capitalism, fair an honest leading to greatnesss, now? dystopian.

ideas can be made terrible no matter who thought them up or what the original was.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@popmol Wisdom is being able to see the logical conclusion of a set of ideas or practices. Obviously you are deficient in that. Nice having a chat with you.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hippyjoe1955 Wisdom is knowing the world isn't black and white and there's an infinite amount of outcomes, infinite nazis and infinite non nazi.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@hippyjoe1955 The notions of Übermensch and Will to Power appeal to Nazis and the “far right.” It is not that Nietzsche was a Nazi or espoused Nazi views; it is that power and ego are an integral part of Nazism. There is a natural predisposition for ideas like these. Maybe their interpretation is wrong, maybe it isn't. Some would argue that this is why we need God.
