I think Hurt is on the same parallel as Love. Its not its opposite, or something else, its just a different value on a linear spectrum of the same feeling.

Its why 'to love' is scary .

At some point, at some time, there indubitably high potentiality that love will cause you hurt.
And the greater the love - the greater that hurt can be.

They are intertwined.

In fact, in a way, i think hurt can define how strong someones love is.
If they really love you - they will try and fix it to the best of their abilty.
