Which of the two have you seen the worst of between Misandry or misogyny?

Misandry doesn’t really hurt anything but mens feelings. There has never been a law the prevented men from doing something because they’re a man. Misogyny actually has serious societal impacts that have effected women’s rights, safety, and health.

@MorbidCynic i'd disagree on the first thing, but sure in a patriarchal society women would be less favoured (at least in ours)

but this question was more events you have seen. not grand societal things 🤪
@popmol ah well, I think as a woman I have experienced more misogyny. I never really seen men being negatively impacted by their gender.

@MorbidCynic i'm not disagreeing with the amount, more with only feelings can be hurt. 🧐

well you and several people will disagree there seems to be a surge of men who do think they are hunted for being men. 🤔
@popmol hunted? Well as far as I know, men have never been oppressed for being men. Like women used to not be allowed to have their own bank accounts or go to most colleges in the USA. Domestic violence also wasn’t taken seriously because we were viewed as property of our spouses. Young girls are also targets to most sexual predators (I know boys can be victims but it happens on a much larger scale, as we know of, for women). White men also didn’t need to fight for their right to vote in my country either.

@MorbidCynic opressed by law for sure they haven't.

they say socially. as these exact reasons. they are viewed as the mean oppressors while its only a select few who make the rules.
sure there was a bunch who followed those rules happily, but many who didn't.

well the domestic abuse is indeed horrific but men also have the issue that they are not taken seriously either. they are joked at most often.
@popmol well yes, I agree there are different levels of “privilege”. I’m not saying men don’t go through hardships but their lives are easier because they don’t have systematic oppression working against them as well.

To be fair, I don’t think abuse and trauma are taken seriously for either gender. Women get accused of making it up, which prevents us from coming forward as soon as it happens sometimes. But when women wait, we get accused of lying because we waited so long. Women also get told to “stop playing the victim” or told to “choose better”. If the abuser is only verbal we get told “at least they don’t hit you”. I think the world as a whole needs to do better in supporting abuse victims.

@MorbidCynic i don't deny that. but in recent years, the pushback to those things are a shotgun reaction to all men while its still a select few.

ooh yeah for sure, more support for abuse victims i'll never disagree about!
@popmol a lot of men still hold sexist views about women, so I think that’s where the anger stems from.
