What was a big catalyst in your life that made it change?

ElRengo · 70-79, M
In seven decades there were more than one.
Some of them...

To become an adult by when had 16, far from my family of origin.
To studdy Sciences and Tech.
To meet and keep my splendid group of lifetime friends.
To survive a dictatorship that killed 1 of each 1000 here.
To have a 1st marriage that if had been just a little better would qualify as a disaster.
To experience war.
To joyfully become a father.
To become a single parent and the only available one and rise my kids on said conditions.
The intense experiences of my professsional life.
To find the love of my life in almost my sixties.
To lost her.
Some other stuff.

I think self-change is the biggest delusion.
Yes, our objectives change.
But our core is our core.
Our inner-child is who we are, and the delusion is all of the lives our inner-child chooses to explore.
I don't doubt that wisdom can be gleaned, or intuition sharpened.

I think my biggest question at this point, is how deep our "inner-child" runs.
If someone has a stroke, or suffers a major head injury, or has a tumor; it changes who they appear to be in some cases. But from our conception, our genetics automatically configured themselves.

I wonder where the instinctive biology ends, and where the self begins.
popmol · 22-25, M
@SnailTeeth well clearly someone hasn't seen inside out! the core island can change. you just need a heavy enough shock!
Cosmicmicrowave · 18-21, M
can you give more context?
Cosmicmicrowave · 18-21, M
@popmol phycological abuse from my biological grandparents, I think it was because I reminded them of my parents who went down a bad path, anyways they tried to cut my and my biological siblings D*** off
popmol · 22-25, M
@Cosmicmicrowave god waht the fuck!

@popmol your question sounded scientific as well.
