The honorable way for a man to die in this world is to drop dead over his work. And when he does, it’s a surprise. His wife, kids, friends, church, family… none of them had a clue he was white knuckling it through pain and sickness to keep working. In the end, all anyone misses is his paycheck, his presents, his tithing. His work. Nobody to mow the lawn, take the trash out. When the sting of that is over, he’s gone. No memory he ever existed.
