I Ask You,male Or Female What Would You Do If

OK, so I used to be on EP and I met some interesting people there. There was this guy and we became friends. Platonic, if that is possible. Of course there were some playful innuendos. After EP, we stayed in contact. He shared LOTS of personal information, so he was easy to find (stalk). Most of what he says are true, except I have uncovered some serious untruths. His age, marital status, children, ex, that's all true. Some things he has said about them are not, they are things that can't be undone. Now, he is supposedly in the hospital, ICU. Yet, he has made comments on his facebook page, so I know he is lying. Is he catfishing? He doesn't ask for anything. We've had a lot of fun talking about all kinds of things, not just personal things. I really don't want to stop talking to him, but I really want some ideas on some things I can do to kind of let him know that I know that he is pulling my string. Kind of call his bluff. Any ideas?

Nothing puts me off befriending a person faster than discovering their lies. I don't think any friendship should have to endure such untruthfulness. It's a disgrace to call someone a friend yet feed them with lies
I totally agree. I guess I really want to know what his agenda is. And that, my friend, is something I know I will never find out. It is strange, because he has given me so much personal info, why would he lie about mundane things??!! Like one thing he told me was his ex was in a bad car accident and is now in a nursing home. His EX !! and she isn't, she is alive and well.

@notadumbblonde: haha 😂 that does sound weird. But a lie is a lie and I'm not sure I can ever trust someone again after they have lied to me. Trust is a big part of friendship or any relationship.
There are at least 5 inconsistencies. Maybe he is trying to make himself look better?
1. His wife is 44 (google says she is 61)
2. he says his daughter split up with BF (they just got married)
3. his ex (comment above)
4. I talk to his "wife", too. Funny, because I know that is him, too.
5. How do I know that? because HE is in ICU and "she" is telling me all about it!
This is just too f****** ridiculous!!

@notadumbblonde: 😱 I still don't understand why you still call him "friend"
I know. But the thing is, is that I REALLY want to call him out on this. I want to figure out a way to kind of "catch" him on the spot. I think I want to put it to him, I guess.
