Is there a good profit in publishing a story as a Ebook? [I Ask Questions]

My friend wanted to publish her books and she was thinking of making them into Ebooks. I was wondering if that is a good profit idea or not? The reason why I ask this question is that most folks may just print or screenshot the story that they ordered online to share with others so that they can make free copies too. I think that she should make hardcover and paperback copies so that customers can have the real authentic book in their hands to share with a friend and possibly get it back or they can buy their own after returning the book than just a printed paper copy screenshots from the Ebooks. What do you guys think?
