My 17 yo girlfriend, my black lab & I stumbled upon an escaped convict deep in a state park near home.

@hlpflwthat Holy crap, how did you know he was an escaped con? Prison uniform? You think he would have ditched that. Maybe he didn't have time.

No prison uniform, but he and a fellow escapee had been sighted at a shopping center 50 miles west. His picture was all over the papers & TV. He was the first black man we'd ever seen in the park. And he had a long gun with him in the dead of summer - when nothing is in season for hunting.
When we got to a farm, we checked their morning paper and were certain. A deputy came out and took me to get my truck after he drove past it to see that nothing suspicious was up. We later learned we were the 2nd of 3 who called in their suspicions. The convict did slip away, but was apprehended in a neighboring state.
