Jimbo - I have been with a married man on 2 separate occasions. In the first, his wife wasn't aware of me. I was the other woman. He fed me lies in the beginning that she knew and then that he'd one day leave her and we'd really be together. I believed him for a time and then I realized how utterly stupid I was being. I ended things, patched my heart, and moved on.
In the second, him and his wife were poly. I spoke with her fearing a repeat of last time and she was an absolute peach. He was a great guy and while our relationship was brief, I don't have a bad word to say about either of them. Super awesome people. I ended things with him because it wasn't what I was looking for. No matter how good to me he was, no matter how he claimed to love me, I'd always be second to his wife and that just didn't work for me.
Would I be with a married man now? Not a chance. I wouldn't even think about it.
