I finished reading Darth Plaguies by James Lucerno

Offers deeper insight into the origin of the Dark Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. Now I can watch the Star Wars prequels with a new perspective, understanding all of Palpatine’s political scheming behind the scenes.

@caPnAhab i do feel like i read it once at 20some and there was nothing else. theni kinda liked it. but many years on it was like... tf is this noise?

That's awesome! Are there any obvious real-world political or historical parallels the author was leaning into?
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@greensnacks The book was written around 2014 I think. I'm not sure what events at that time would be comparable to any in the book.

But the rise of Palpatine in general is comparable to the rise of Julius Caesar

@caPnAhab Ah, sounds interesting enough.

I haven't watched the Star wars unfortunately, I believe I watched one part partially with Harrison Ford, but you reminded me I might watch them soon. Maybe I'll love them. I do like space sfuff, I do like battles.

@greensnacks I think you would like them. And I'd be interested too to know the opinion of one previously unfamiliar with Star wars.
