I Am Amused

My mother was just telling me the story of her extremely successful baby brother. He had the IQ below average, speaks very broken English, had the mentality of a 6 yr old and despised going to school as a child through to a young adult. On his first job he was asked to get rid of the water which was flooding the deck of the ship he was working for. His boss found him building a structure on deck and asked him what he was doing “taking the river out,” he replied. Needless to say, he drained the water completely out and every water that came in after that. He went on to do bigger welding jobs, before becoming a mechanical engineer and consultant. All without a degree, education up to freshman year and the IQ still that below average. He is extremely successful, still speaks broken english but his charm and charisma equates to that of none. 😂😂😂

my ex brother in law is an autistic savant
He can make things with his hands that would blow your mind
you would never believe he made it ,let alone with just his hands
In his case when they get older they get more violent and he is super strong
So he is no longer welcome at work shops where he can make those things anymore .
Its so sad so many out there are like him ,with such talents
And no one knows ,,they are treated like helpless retards

I am glad your uncle got to do what he was doing before he was stopped
He was allowed to prove his worth

@Elizabeth28 he is no longer trusted with anything sharp or things he can throw
They had to fence off the cemetery next to his home
He strips down ,writes his name on grave stones ,and then knocks them over
He started doing a lot of damage ,he reminds me of the story of Legion .

He has even been asked not to come back to church as he will take off his shoes and toss them at speakers and yell at them to shut up ,he shoots birds at them
"he mumbles "I do not know Willie could be "

But he listens to me ,I have had to take him down and restrain him before and take a weapon from him ,it scared me to deal with him knowing the goal was to disarm and take him down without injuring either of us ,he tried to stab me .
But he comes to family sings he enjoys ,but I can't play and sing and keep an eye on him all the time
He is subject to lose it and run up to someone all red faced shooting birds at them ..
I am afraid he will be in a home sedated if he gets much worse
But he was not suppose to live to be 20 ,,he is 60 now
he has been very well taken care of ,physically he is healthy as a horse
and just as strong , he is a valued member of the family
I have to show some of the kids some of the things he has made ,,
let them know to never pick on people like him ,,we all have hidden talents

@rckt148 im so sorry that his violent side came out like that ,i hope some one can help him control him self in a certain way and not end up in a mental home cuz those are just the worse thing to do to a person

@Elizabeth28 2 of my kids are nurses ,specially trained to deal with people like he is ,,noting is going to get better ,he is slowly getting worse
he will eventually be on meds that keep him controllable ,but he will also need someone who can be there to watch him 24/7 at that point .
There are a few of us he stops in his tracks for ,he knows to get himself under control .
But you should see him go off in walmart ,or like the night his Mom got in a car wreck and he gets out of the car tossing can goods at the guy who hit his Moms car covered in the white powder that is in air bags LOL
He is a huge man ,you would not want him after you if he was in his right mind
I am trained to take men down ,and he has made me think twice .
He will have family with him the rest of his life ,in a home or at home
It will all come down to when he is a danger to himself and others ,
Before I let him hurt someone ,I will lock him away myself ,
And he has been a big brother to me since I was 13 ,,I do love him ,a lot

@rckt148 it can be hearth braking to have to do that to have to go that far but health and safety come first its never easy i know
