I am not really into the whole “nice guys finish last” mentality. I’ve tried giving respect to people in all aspects of my life, with great results. I’ve made great friends and met people who will watch my back when we work together, people willing to teach me what they know and give me grace when I make mistakes.
I know the saying usually refers to relationships, but I find that when I am doing what I want to do, living life the way I want, pursuing my interests, and being true to who I am, the right people always come into it.
Like me or not, I am going to be who I want to be.
