It doesn't surprise me that your first thought was "bug bite", though - especially if you've been a few years without a cyst. I've had times when I've forgotten all about them, then had one pop up to remind me, like "I'm baaaaack".

Between now and your appointment, sitting in a few inches of warm water several times a day for ten to fifteen minutes might encourage natural drainage.

@HootyTheNightOwl I've had atleast 3 cysts a year the last 20 years due to hidradenitis suppurativa. First at the bottom of my back, then after surgery it moved to the groin instead.
