Helped my mom get a new car today

We went to some used place she saw online and looked at the car she wanted. I didn't like how the salesguy kept downplaying her concerns. She noticed a ripped seam on the arm rest and passenger side chair. Guy was like oh you can get a shop to fix for you. She noticed a panel popping off slightly guy popped it back in told her it was nothing. She was just going to buy it but I made her sit in it and start it up to test ride. I heard a slight squealing noise like a skipping. She heard it too. Guy said original owner kept up on maintenance. I doubt it man not with that noise. 67k miles on a 2014 explorer. Great but I told my mom we should regroup before she does anything. Guy wouldn't even really run her numbers finance wise. You got no idea what her credit is, income is or anything man. On another car she brought up a door squeak the guy downplayed it. I told her no let's go regroup. She was mad at me but I felt they weren't honest. My mom is in her mid 60s.

I had her come to where I bought my car had her meet with my salesman and she walked away happy with a 2023 escape 15k miles decent car payment. I did help put money down for her but still I didn't trust the other place

Okay big red flag 67k miles and that many problems and it didnt leave the lot......Leave!!!!!

Stop looking at that place - they are trying to con you two

I know the days of 200,000 and 300,000 mile mileages cars are gone, but that's a lemon

@HumanEarth 67k miles seams shouldnt be ripping apart. That's seen more on high mileage cars. I took her over to where I got my car brand new and she left happy
