We’ve had quite a few days with rain here. Last night at 2:47 I woke up after hearing a huge crash of thunder. Then the heavens opened up and it rained buckets. Lasted maybe 20-25 minutes and stopped. They said we got 3/4 of an inch of rain so that’s something. It’s been a lot cooler this week too. One day it was 58 for the high temperature with a wind chill in the high-40’s to low 50’s.

@FreestyleArt People have been having some coughing spells here. I imagine the mold count is up after all the days with rain lately. I’m never ready for the hot summer. We had a hot week or two before this last cool rainy front moved in. I wish it would last a lot longer.

@cherokeepatti how hot does it get there?

@FreestyleArt The hottest day I can remember was in 2013 I think. It was 114 F. One day and I was working at the car lot. I don’t tolerate Oklahoma heat that well. It’s the humidity along with the heat. When it gets up to the low 80’s with high humidity I start feeling sick outside. When we went to Yosemite we drove through the desert and stopped at Baker, California. It wasn’t too far from Death Valley. We stopped to eat lunch at the little city park with shade trees. Sat at a picnic table and had lunch and cut open a watermelon and ate it. It was so pleasant there. When we got back to the car and loaded up and got going the temperature was 100 F. It felt like low 70’s in Oklahoma. I checked the humidity and it was only 16% and that is why it felt so good sitting under large shade trees. And the funny thing about Oklahoma in the winter is that people who have lived in Colorado and other colder states always told us that it was a different kind of cold than Oklahoma has in the winter and they didn’t feel nearly as cold there as they would here with the same temperatures. I think it’s because Oklahoma has so many windy days. That cold wind can cut right through a person.
