I do not know what they are pushing now, but I remember when I was a kid, everything pointed to how 40 was old, over the hill, whatever.
The rough part is that our 40's seem to sneak by overnight.
Luckily these days, most people do not age as fast as they used to.

@Turtlepower It is a rough birthday for sure. Strangely enough, 50 doesn't hit nearly as hard.
Think of it like this - you are now at the point where people just won;t bother you with the stuff that younger people get razzed about. "When are you getting married, having kids, why aren't you a millionaire yet, hey, come help lift this heavy stuff..."
We actually get shown a little more respect.
