Even Japanese wishing wells are becoming extinct though.

Wishing wells were very popular here. Until the water shortage became an issue.

Also things Japanese were very popular in Southern California. Which is where wishing wells came to begin with.

Among the many relics of our cherished past.
I remember these in shopping malls and stores!

Time claims them all.

They were beautiful social centers.
Spaces of warm light and graceful lines.

So many memories 😞

I think most people just don't carry around pocket change anymore.
maybe if you had a quarter sized slug vending machine next to it that took credit cards or phone payments and this then fed slugs back back into the vending machine.
