I love my nephew and little cousins, but good god damn they make thankful I was a latchkey kid instead of a over-nurtured and cuddled..

Love them to death but jfc are they needy, soft, and hopless on the most basic tasks. How does a 15 year old not know how to make themselves something to eat or change their bicycle tire?

yep, by the time i was 15, i was on a bicycle in the next county and my parents had no clue where i was, and they had no worries. they knew i had the resources to make it back home and the common sense to make it back in one piece. todays 15 year olds can barely open their juice box without their mom helping them.

@MayorOfCrushtown I guess it is the natural outcome when it becomes a legal issue if you let an 11 year old to the playground by themselves
