It'll grow back... it's not like he asked you to cut his nails and you chopped his finger off.
I messed up STBX'S hair once and it grew back.

@HootyTheNightOwl the comparison made me giggle 🤭 you’re right it would grow back but he has a nice modern mullet going on and I’m afraid to mess it up I do trim his beard all the time though
@MommaBear He obviously trusts you... and it's not that much different to his beard - just a bit higher.

@HootyTheNightOwl good point I’ll try
@MommaBear STBX is currently in hospital and has been since 8th January... the nurses on his ward won't even give him access to a pair of scissors so he can trim his moustache. He has his shaver so he can shave his beard to his preference.
I have to go in with my crafting scissors and trim it back every so often so he's not eating it.
The weird thing is that they have a barber who goes in once a week (and charges £10 per hair cut) to cut the hair on their head - but nothing for facial hair unless the bearded person can do it for themselves without the use of scissors.
I stood there trimming his moustache in the middle of his bay, hoping that the nurses would say something to me about how I couldn't do that... but they didn't for some reason. I was ready to let them have it about how they've taken enough of his dignity from him and I wasn't about to let his moustache go untrimmed to suit them.
If the man is asking for scissors and asking me to trim it for him... it's getting trimmed - whether they like it or not. He wasn't even asking for professional level results ... just something short enough that he wasn't eating it with every meal he had. He can't walk, so he's not running up and down the ward with scissors in his hand and it shouldn't be that hard to supervise a guy in a wheelchair for five minutes to make sure he's not a danger to himself or others with a pair of scissors.
