I pick the softest and most breathable fabrics with the weather and temperature in mind. Usually 100% cotton for most of the year and some mixed fabrics for summer dresses that give them smooth cooling texture very pleasant to touch and which don't crease, so they never need to be ironed and they dry very fast after washing.

In cold weather, elastic pants that don't need a belt that wrap around legs to keep them warm or leggings with a skirt on top. Seamless would be the best. A T-shirt I know I sweat the least in, dark enough and thick enough that I don't need to wear a bra but if I will be in public, I guess I would wear it anyway just to be sure.

A jacket, hoodie or sweater has to have a zipper. I rarely ever wear another layer that I can't unzip or at least unbutton.

If it rained, I would love to wear something waterproof but unfortunately I don't have any clothes like that now.

Btw, I noticed that grey T-shirts usually have the smoothest and the most pleasant texture and I really don't know why. It has to have something to do with the way they process the fabrics. I love big grey oversize T-shirts to wear at home.
