Hypothetically would it hurt to take 4 ibuprofens at once?

@MommaBear Adults can safely take ibuprofen 200 mg to 400 mg (one or two tablets) every 4-6 hours as needed for pain relief. The maximum dose in one day (24 hours) for over-the-counter ibuprofen is 1200 mg (6 tablets of 200 mg each).

Ibuprofen is also available on a prescription from a doctor and may be prescribed at a higher strength (600 mg or 800 mg every 6 hours) for severe pain. If you are taking ibuprofen under doctor supervision, then the maximum dose in 24 hours is 3200 mg.
