I’ve never really cared for my name it’s a variation of a common name but unique enough i don’t hear it often at all..

I know what you mean. I was never a fan of my name because it was only used when my dad was scolding me. So I started going by a nickname that became the go-to in every environment.

When I started my current job everyone called me by my full first name with “Miss”, which is used upwards of 50 times a shift to get my attention or ask me a question. It’s not really positivity tied to it.

But when he says my name there’s a completely different tone than the ones that have been attached to it in the past. It’s like he’s teaching my heart to finally love the syllables spoken every time he speaks it…and he doesn’t even know it which is rather magical and precious to me.

I have several pseudonyms, but not because I don't like my name.
Mostly, those arose from circumstance or because someone else called me by something, and it stuck!
...
For example, Viper; I was once part of a small racing sim community (long since been 404'd), and I earned the pseudonym 'Viper', but I don't recall exactly how.
