It was 1993, and we were staying with my wife’s aunt and uncle. Her uncle was a tenured professor in a university program that did work with NASA, so he always had the coolest telescopes, gadgets, and computer setup. He told me all about this thing called the internet, and he gave a demo on his computer station in their living room. I’m such a sports geek that I spent the rest of that afternoon just plugging away at sites with baseball and football stats and photos of historical players and game. Within a month, I had bought a PC with AOL dialup and was off to the races.
