Some might be. I think some police get a form of PTSD from too-close contact with crime.

Everyone has that dark thing inside them. They think about stuff they would never publicly admit, but if it's part of a show, then they are hooked. A chance to be weird and murderous and plotting without any negative effects.
Also they learn a bunch of stuff they never would have thought about before.
The stranger thing is, why are these shows even allowed, there is no benefit to any of them in a general population.

I get an email every afternoon from People Magazine about true crimes. I thought it would give me ideas for mystery stories i could write but reality is much more disgusting than fiction.
