Random story time

Many years ago there was a game called DUST 514.

I was in one of the top corporations (read guilds) and was in the top 20 on the leaderboards.

They had a demo of the game at a Chinese tech expo, as the game was being developed in China.

Those that played in the demo at the convention were given developer level weapons and armor and those of us that were regular players were limited in the number we could bring in our squad.

Everyone else had quit because the weapons the enemies were using were so much more powerful but I stuck with it. I ended up absolutely dominating the entire enemy team by myself after my final support, Catfish Joe, dropped out.

It was a buggy broken mess of a game but I pulled out every trick I knew. Driving vehicles toward the enemy, jumping out to shoot them and then getting back in the truck mid-air to run them over, charging my weapon before hopping over a hill to fire it at full power on an enemy I couldn’t see, etc…

It was the best game of my life. It doesn’t really mean much but I won’t lie, that moment had stuck with me as a triumph. I took on 8 players with god-tier weapons by myself and dominated them.

In that moment, I was really really good at something that i put a lot of work into. Honestly in that moment I might have been the best in the world.

It doesn’t matter what it is, that feeling is hard to describe if you haven’t experienced it.

I have had that feeling in a couple of different sport related competitions. I reflect on them with sadness however because the significant people in my life then never showed up to observe. I felt alone when I should have been sharing my joy. Telling about how I finished after getting home just let all the air out of the satisfaction.

That’s one of the best feeling in the world . Something you dedicated your time and effort into in order to develop into an expert. And to be recognized for your efforts .
Sounds like you kicked their asses even though the deck was stacked against you .
Feels good huh Bro ?
