Hmm not sure if I should get involved or not

So recently we have noticed this younger girl I say around 18 has been walking up and down the road we live off of ... By walking I mean like she will literally walk in the middle of the road definitely not safe on this back country road.. Not only I'm I concerned she will get hit but someone could easily grab her ... The other day we seen her standing on the main road and her mom was parked beside the road trying to get her in the car .. My momma stopped and tried to help and her momma told us she has Schizophrenia and her momma said mental health places have been no help and the girl is off of her meds and out of control... She is currently walking up and down the road right now talking to her self my daughters seen her ... But I don't know if I should get involved or not or if I would be any help but I'm definitely super concerned for her safety and honestly concern about my daughter's being outside ...🌻💛

People diagnosed with schizophrenia are more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators.

And compared to the general population, they aren't more violent..Unless there is a history of crime, no point in treating them as dangerous.

She does need help and shouldn't be neglected and left in the streets during episodes.. Call 911 and ask to be redirected to crisis line for mental health. Or call the national alliance on mental illness (NAMI) for non emergency situations or to seek advice specific to that situation.

NAMI HelpLine 1-800-950-NAMI (1-800-950-6264) or text "NAMI" to 741741. They will provide resources specific to your state and support.
