Contributing factors but not the only reason. Rent and the general cost of living is also very high.

@Shaveit You are assuming that everyone who goes to college does so to get a high paying job at the end of it.
Nursing, teaching, science degrees, health care all require study which often leads to debit but the end jobs are not all High paying.

@justanothername those jobs all pay remarkably well. If you put a police officer on there, then I might would’ve agreed with you.

@Shaveit You don’t go to college to learn to nt s cop you join the Police academy and as far as I know you don’t need to take out a student loan to do that.
