The Andy Griffith Show. I have a website. Lately I spend a couple hours almost every day watching Dragnet. I watch the original episodes, then the color episodes, then back to b&w. It helps me fall asleep.

Ever watch Frasier? Daphne was comparing Martin to Col. Potter (who was also Sgt. Friday's sidekick, of course, in the newer version). Cripes that was a funny conversation!

@SW-User I've never seen it. I pretty much quit watching TV in 1966 when I was 16. I was more interested in my guitar and reading.

@SW-User Yes. Anything I liked I wanted to do. I wrote my first book when I was 7. It was about a kid who lived in a swamp in a house on stilts. He had a pet alligator. Some bad guys broke in to rob the place and the alligator ate them. The End. It was about three pages long but quite an accomplishment to me.

Have u kept everything? All your writings? I guess as a kid of 7 you may not have thought of saving much.

@SW-User I don't own or keep much of anything. My writing over the last 15 years is on my gmail account and a thumb drive. I moved in here with a backpack and a sleeping bag and that's probably all I will leave with.
When I was 10 my 4th grade teacher liked a story I wrote and sent it to a children's magazine. They returned it and said they didn't publish stories by children! My first rejection slip.

@hunkalove About your possessions - -
"I don't want to be possessed by my possessions." I forget where I heard/saw that but it's stuck with me for decades.

That is some story! Who else at the age - save maybe Hemingway or Fitzgerald, maybe - has a trophy like that: an official rejection slip?

@SW-User I've had a zillion of them. When I was in college in 1970 I had a poem published in Rolling Stone. It was 6 lines, two haikus that fit together, and I was paid very nicely for it. I thought I was on my way! It wasn't until several years later that I realized how bad the poetry in Rollong Stone was.
