Omg why do the workers always follow me around in Ulta?

This guy who works there kept creeping on me asking me if I needed help. I said no I'm ok and kept browsing. I was in the skincare section looking for something specific I came for. I noticed whenever I moved throughout the store he wasn't far behind. Happens every time I go there just about. I'm not a theif good god

A lot of it involves customer service. A lot of it involves loss prevention. They don't like it when you tell them "oh, I'm just looking." I used to get that a lot when I was in car sales. Somebody would come on to the lot and say that. And our rebuttal would be, "so what are you looking for?" And from there we would assess their needs.

These are businesses. And they do have the right to filter out any body who doesn't belong there. Of course you're not a thief. But they don't know that. So talk to them. Tell them what products you're looking for. If you don't know what you're looking for let them know you're in the goal , whether or not you're trying to take care of dry skin . Or oily skin . Something like that. If they say they don't have it, ask who might have it.

If they're simply kicking you out without trying to assess your needs, that's bad customer service. But customer service goes two ways.

@Prisoner1972 I’ve worked at a store and the sad thing was that they let the chronic shoplifters go and watched other people instead. One woman would come into the store almost every day bringing back items that were about $8.50 or less and returning them without a receipt, it was always less than $10 and she could get cash back. She’d come in several times a day and do that with the same type of items every week, small things that were in that price range and she could slip into her large purse. One week it was Sharpie pen sets, another ceramic soap dishes, another week maybe their fake jewelry beads. She brought her two young children and used them for distractions and one thing I’d see her doing was go into the women’s clothing and push her cart under a circular clothing rack. When she’d leave there would be empty boxes that held Tylenol and other things like cosmetics and health items that were small. The assets protection people never seemed to catch her and they wouldn’t listen to store employees either when they tried to tell them what they saw that was suspicious
