That integration was the government's idea.

Yes there were heinous attacks that set many black communities back (ie,tulsa).

But there were other black communities that were doing extremely well. So well that the local governments had to conspire to build highways over them to try and curb their progress (black wall street, claiborne new orleans).

I think that once faced with a minority community that was determined to succeed, the CIA and the powers that be decided that it was better to accept black people into the bottom of their society rather than have them create their own, successful, society apart from theirs in which they could flourish.
@Eternity I had a coworker in security that was former Army and TSA, he claimed that inner city gang leaders are CIA trained to keep the younger Minority youth involved with drugs and turf wars, to keep them from going into the suburbs.

@NativePortlander1970 maybe not today, but it is on record that the cia intentionally aggravated the differences between street-minded young black people, and educated young black peoole, in the black panthers.

Eventually the two split and the street sector became the crips.
@Eternity It's still happening, but BLM is redirecting and distracting the narrative.
