I worked rotating days/nights doing 12 hour shifts, for over ten years. Like most people, I just got on with it while bringing up a family, paying a mortgage.......... When I finally changed jobs and changed to working days (still 12 hour shifts, but no nights), I realised that it is not normal to spend your life permanently feeling like death warmed up.
I know guys who have worked nights for thirty years and they all look like Nosferatu the Vampyre.
