Would anyone here swap lives with me for a week?

If so, what would I expect from your life?

@TexChik Are you a pilot?
TexChik · F
@SW-User private . Advanced student with a license actually . I only have 500 hours under my belt

@TexChik I would consider it falling with style....bonus points if I keep the aircraft together :)
TexChik · F
@Silentpleasure yep , it’s a whole other world ( aviation) , and it’s actually really cool.

@TexChik always wanted to try it.....just don't have the time to spare for it right now.
TexChik · F
@Silentpleasure you can do ground school on line now and go n to do your testing … then the flight time with an instructor . That’s where it gets expensive . I did it over the covid shut down . Lots of sim time and flying . No one was out much

@TexChik How much does flight time cost?
TexChik · F
@Silentpleasure our plane costs about $96 per hour to fly on short trips, about $126 for longer because of the added fuel and hangar fees .

To get your license ( private) it’s about $150 per hour . The average cost to get to and pass the solo flight is $ 10k.
My husband owned a plane when we met and he taught me how to fly and talk to ATC ( over 15 years) then he finally STOPPED accepting my BS about not having time and demanded I get my license like I kept promising to do .

@TexChik Ok so now I need time and an extra 10k lol. Guess I just have to do it little by little

@Silentpleasure it’s not cheap . Usually those who are planning a career as a pilot do it , or live in a family that owns a plane . My son now is interested . His daddy was flying at 13 with his dad as a boy. Guess it’s in the blood .
