Cooling Embers
The blistering summer day slinks into night,
As we shudder, under plum and peach skies.
We have each other for warmth and light,
I am yours, and you're too good to be mine.
Such beauty, such pain,
We relive each day, and still I'm unsure why.
Softly and sweet,
I will kiss your feet, and silently worry inside.
For your beauty and warmth are beyond all compare,
And it crushes my heart, the more it's laid bare.
For you are my sun, my home, my heart,
There's distance within distance, but I love who you are.
And I will always love you.
