What if our consciousness is an amalgam of the little pieces of sapience that exist inside every living microorganism/cell that makes up our bodies?

I mean we are a lot like them if we remove all the pretense and posturing; we seek to be near things that are like to us, we seek to eat and to reproduce, we have strong urges to destroy or flee things that are a threat to us, and we seek to fulfill a greater purpose just as the cells in our bodies do.

Perhaps not just the mind, but every single thing that makes up you is "you".

And when you die and you break down into your constituent parts those parts become part of a greater whole, and perhaps also become tiles in the mosaic that is the consciousness of a greater being?

Perhaps we all already are to a higher being as the cells and bacterium and viruses in our bodies are to us?

gf: I bet he’s thinking of other women

@Eternity : how would the world be different if grapes had consciousness 🧐

@DeluxedEdition she wouldn't be wrong honestly. I can have multiple different thought strings at once lol.

Well, there is really no way to prove that they don't.

To a mosquitoe we look like a big red cloud. They have no way of knowing our true nature.

Could be the same with us and grapes but in reverse.

@Eternity just picturing the grapes screaming as my daughter devours them. She loves grapes. Haha

@DeluxedEdition hahaha as she’s yelling “I love grapes mama!”
@DeluxedEdition Maybe the world is different because grapes do have consciousness. And, whether they do or don't, how would we know the difference?

There's no machinery which can test or measure consciousness, only brain function.
