There is a danger inherent with comfort.

People come with natural faults. We find some of those flaws attractive. One may recall a conversation involving a couple speaking on how charmed he/she was with the other's quirk(s). We find some irritating. One may think about the aggravation caused by another's imperfections. Ultimately we learn how to handle what we find annoying in order for our lives to achieve or retain an acceptable measure of pleasantness.

One curious eccentricity exhibited by a considerable number of humans is how we become comfortable with how something we don't own is and grouse when that same something we don't own undergoes a change.

Case in point: the recent updates to groups and the addition to this site of the downvote emoji.

This was a decision made by the owner(s) of Similar Worlds. They recognize the value of informing members of the changes and are open to feedback. Should a reversal come about due to significant blowback so be it. Still and all they hold the final word. We are members. The financial requirements to join this site were exactly zero. One may pay for the privileges granted by becoming a V.I.P. but ownership in the site does not come with said paid membership. We are users of the site. We are not owners.

A question of abuse on the downvote emoji has been brought forward. That is a possibility considered by the owners, administrators, and moderators. If the use of the emoji is abused to the point or creating troubles the aforementioned group will apply the appropriate remedy.

When one complains one should remember where one is standing.

@onrealityofdreams I just don’t see how users have the right to moan and groan over the owner’s decision of a feature to their OWN site whether members like it or not. As IF throwing a tantrum or threatening to leave will force them to give them their way. So in short, this girl knows where she stands. 🙂
@Unefilletrescurieuse It was befuddling to see the childish behavior displayed by people who are listed as chronologically in the adult stage of life. However one is allowed to list oneself on this site as he/she wishes to be known regarding age as well as gender. And you are correct in pointing out the folly in their thinking empty threats would force the owner(s) to cower in fear and fall to their knees begging forgiveness.
Congratulations on knowing where you stand. Many people would benefit from your example.
@onrealityofdreams Thank you. I couldn’t help but laugh as I know I have my faults as well.. but thinking I can manipulate the site owners by threats and tantrums isn’t one of them. I’ve never even liked to see children throw tantrums.. Haha

You are a writer at heart. I’ve enjoyed your every contribution and hope you will continue to post. 🙂
@Unefilletrescurieuse You are too kind and I am in deep appreciation.
