A quote from Benjamin Franklin

"Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins."

Relevant then, and even more relevant today, especially online where on certain sites, we are censored by tyrants. They say you can say this, but you can't say that, who are they to say?

What certain people are experiencing online is NOT censorship, it's something else. It's a thing called capitalism.

Speech in the public square is governed by the First Amendment. Speech on private property is governed by property owners. Although you can probably find some socialists to agree with you that property rights are bad, you'll find that capitalism is actually built on property rights and can't really survive without them.

BTW, twitter's customers are NOT the people who post there. Twitter's customers are the advertisers. Those are the folks Elon Musk is really trying to please.

@ElwoodBlues not only do these people feel entitled to force every private sector entity give them a yammering platform, apparently they also feel entitled to force every private sector entity literally give them money too

Funny how these people are suddenly turning away from capitalism and, in the ultimate irony, to communism ... and they don't even grasp this ... it makes my head spin ...
