Rosalynn Carter's grandson, speaking at her tribute service

“My grandmother doesn’t need a eulogy, her life was a sermon."

I read a lot about the Carter couple today, they were so in love to the end, I admire their story the most 🙇‍♀️
Piper · 61-69, F
I think I get what he was saying. Anyone can 'sermonize' about what aspiring to be Christ-like means, whether they are somehow ordained to...or not. Only some actually aspire to be, really, in the ways that shine.

Her grandson would know that she did, more than those looking on and admiring her from the 'outside'.

@Piper I agree.

I think it might be good to point out that in many circles, the word 'sermon" does not have negative connotations at all. There are books of "Great Sermons".
@DrWatson I had to think about it for a moment and wondered if "sermon" was the word he intended.

@bijouxbroussard He was giving a eulogy-like talk at the service. If a sermon is supposed to teach about God, she taught with how she lived. I think that is what he meant.
@DrWatson Okay, that makes sense.
