Nice quote although I would prefer to replace the word God with religion.

Be mindful of other people's beliefs good sir.

You can be religious and knowledgeable at the same time. Look at Albert Einstein. He was Jewish and believed in God, but he was brilliant and genius.

Einstein was a Jew by default of his birth. I doubt if he allowed religious doctrine to limit his thinking. I don't have a problem with God perse , I have an issue with religion, the elitism of it, the limits it places on us and how it divides us Humans.

Here is an Einstein quote which shows that he didn't allow himself to be limited by a particular religious doctrine.

" A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest-a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty."

He seems to have had similar thoughts that I have of "all is one and one is all". :-)

Maybe bad example. But people aren't intelligent because they're not religious, they're intelligent because that's how they are. Religious people who refuse to acknowledge the fact that they can't actually prove anything are the unintelligent and ignorant ones because they don't consider other possibilities. Or if they ignore scientific proof or something. Religious people who acknowledge the fact that they can't prove anything aren't unintelligent or stupid in any way. That's just my opinion.

Fair enough FanX. I'm not keen on starting an argument or anything. I was also just giving my opinion. Can I give a personal example ? My mother is Christian and she is a nice person but when faced with certain scientific realities her religious conviction prevents her from even considering the scientific perspective. She claims that he Earth is 6000 yrs old and that carbon dating and so on is not absolutely accurate and so it is false . Basically it is a Satanic distraction from the truth of the Bible. Yes carbon dating can be out by thousands of years but when we are talking millions of years then a few thousand here or there makes no difference. That kind of thing. Religion can be limiting because people are encouraged to believe blindly in things that are simply not true. And if one admits that parts of the Bible for example are just not correct or possible then one cannot help but question all the rest and religious doctrine doesn't allow for that or you will be damned for all eternity. this is my issue with religion. I apologize to Themanoflegends if he thinks I'm getting carried away here all up and over his quote. :-)

I totally agree with that. My friend's mom is a creationist and I just have trouble understanding how they can believe that stuff. Believing that god created the universe is one thing, we have no proof otherwise. But ignoring science I don't understand.
Not trying to start an argument either :) sometimes I just come across that way, sorry if I did. XD

No worries, it's all good. You were quite respectable and not rude in the least. It was pleasant to have crossed your path in EP land. Here is a greeting for you that some regard to be religious but I don't use it that way. "Namaste" Google that for some interesting reading.
