@rinkydinkydoink It doesn't, back in the 70's hiking boots were called waffle stompers because the bottom of the soles looked like the plates of a waffle iron. Fun fact, when Phil Knight first started making Nike shoes in the early 70's, the soles were made by using waffle irons to melt the grid pattern in.

Love trivia and this is damn fine stuff... so, the Urban Dictionary "waffle stomp" isn't totally original (but it's still inventive and funny).

My wife asked me a question about a German impressionist movie from the 1920's and before she finished reading the card I blurted out "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". The look on her face was priceless... she said "how the hell did you know that??"

The test for a trivia nut used to be knowing who the passengers were on the doomed airplane in Lost Horizon (1937)
