20 years ago, 2004, did you think the world 2024 would be like what it is now? eg, the technology, cars

and How old were you then? I'd have been 23 December of that year.

I thought we'd be a bit further along in self driving cars and home computing. I sort of expected the smart phone take off. But I didn't expect PC improvements to slow down as far as noticeable performance increase quite so much. I feel like the last twenty years was full of incremental improvements on things we already had and not quite as innovative as before.

I was not expecting the arrival of AI, but it's still early so difficult to tell where it's ultimately going to go. AI could be the exception to the lack of new things. It could either fizzle out or become the basis for world altering change the way the internet was.
