I’m just curious, has owning a gun ever actually protected you or is more of just a peace of mind

Just like knowing you have a gun in your house if you need it, it’s there?

I mean, it's kind of one of those things like a fire extinguisher where it's very rare to use, but when you actually do need it, it's extremely worth it, right? Like I've never used my fire extinguisher at my house, but I wouldn't say that's just peace of mind. 💅

That said, my father's weapons skills has come in handy before, when we found a handgun lying around in the woods while running. He was able to safely unload it and bring it back to the police station. The damn thing didn't have a safety, so if he did not know how to handle guns, he would have either had to run with the damn thing loaded in his pocket or poke around incompetently with a firearm and neither of those alternatives are good.
@BlueVeins see that’s what I’m saying he found it in the woods like wth 🤦‍♀️ It was probably stolen and did no one any good

@SweetNSassy Nah, we're pretty sure it fell out of the pocket of some irresponsible but ultimately well-intentioned biker.
@BlueVeins that’s what I’m saying people are so irresponsible with their guns and literally cause more problems by basically giving criminals guns to use for harm
