I can kind of see where some of it comes from but I do not really believe it myself.
I think we could make the world much better to exist in, reducing the harm caused to children by bringing them into the world. That would fix one angle of reasoning for the belief set.
I do believe we could get by with a smaller population, but prefer we get there through more conscious and careful decision making at the personal level, not by banning children at the state level.
I think it's okay for people to choose not have to children. But I don't think it's okay for them to choose that other people shouldn't have children.
