Fun fact of the day.

Your muscles don't use energy to move. But they do use energy to relax after moving. This is why rigor mortis sets in after death.

nope
muscles need energy to produce contractions. the energy is derived from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) present in muscles
@fakable They use ATP to relax.
@SinlessOnslaught
muscle cells in the body break down sugars and fats to release energy. this energy is then used to power the muscles’ movements. this energy is released as heat, which keeps the body warm.

the point is that in this universe there are no dynamic processes that do not require energy input. i.e., the transition of one type of energy into another. this is the law.
@fakable I'm not sure what that says about muscles using ATP to relax.

@fakable I asked my brother who's in the medical field. He said you're right, they use energy to contract. He said they also use energy to relax. So rigor mortis sets in when they contract but don't relax again.
@SinlessOnslaught
yes, that was interesting for me to know. thank you.
@fakable Thank you for the correction as well.
