Court battles waged on throughout the early-aughts, and in 2016 the U.K. Supreme Court upheld the 2008 ruling that Chagossians wouldn't be allowed to go back, the BBC reports.

I'd let them go back if I were in charge but they're going to find life there a lot harder than it was back in the 60s. Almost entire self reliance in a saturated market is going to be one hell of a challenge.

@Jackaloftheazuresand Oh yeah most certainly. I think it's just the idea that they can have their homeland back rather than outright banning them. Because I mean they did kind of get kicked out of their homeland.
