Chagossians called, they want their Island back now.

Oh and RIP... all that jazz.

https://allafrica.com/stories/202105160131.html

But before Chagossians were able to return, the British Government announced that in the name of Her Majesty the Queen, they were enacting two royal orders that barred any Chagossian from returning to Chagos, Vine writes in "Island of Shame." Court battles waged on throughout the early-aughts, and in 2016 the U.K. Supreme Court upheld the 2008 ruling that Chagossians wouldn't be allowed to go back, the BBC reports.

Update also included the BBC news link where Grunge got it from:

I'd let them go back if I were in charge but they're going to find life there a lot harder than it was back in the 60s. Almost entire self reliance in a saturated market is going to be one hell of a challenge.

@Jackaloftheazuresand Oh yeah most certainly. I think it's just the idea that they can have their homeland back rather than outright banning them. Because I mean they did kind of get kicked out of their homeland.

This would be interesting if you have a different, more credible source?

edit:
Okay these seem to be available too:

Yes, this is messed up, and one more reason people shouldn't be falling all over themselves to fawn over this (or any other) monarch. Monarchs are not your friend.

@SW-User I'll update the post to include a link from BBC news, the high court was going to allow the people to rightfully return but Queen Elizabeth overrode it.

In 2004, the government used the royal prerogative - exercised by ministers in the Queen's name - to effectively nullify the decision.

I would like to say that the website grunge isn't going off of their own ideals but that of an author who wrote about the whole affair.

@SW-User Yeah I wasn't really slamming the Queen's death per se.. I just think it's overrated lol. I mean I don't mean to be nasty about it, it's just how I feel about the moment. People care more for celebs, kings/queens and dictators than they do for the average joe who died in a house fire somewhere. It doesn't mean I wish for anyone's death just that I'm tired of hearing about it.

Trust me, I totally get both what you are and are not saying.

This is so very true and so very disgusting. It's just as much a cult as QAnon.
