We were dancing together, at the worst wedding on the planet. We’d been dating for about a year, and he was one of the groomsmen. I was holding my tongue , but really wanted to leave. He said, "don’t worry, ours will be nicer."
“Seriously ?” I said.
"Yeah, assuming you’ll marry me,” he said.
"Okay," I replied.
A couple of months later, we married. At City Hall. Our families threw a party that served as our reception. And it was much nicer.

The intent and the marriage is what matters in my opinion

He asked me to marry him two weeks after we met. We talked about it over the next two years then got hitched.

I made a booking for a 8 star hotel facing bosphorus, called her mom and said she won't be coming home tonight.. and I proposed her in a jacuzzi with a gorgeous view in the background

The ring arrived 20 minutes before he had to leave for his flight.
It was quick and sad and happy.
He got on one knee and asked me. Hed asked me many times before but we didn't make it official until he had met my family.

To be honest that sounds kinda badass, and it worked!
