Why would Prince Andrew ascend to the throne? Charles' heir is his son, Prince William (followed by his children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis). After them, fifth in line is Prince Harry, the younger son of the Charles; sixth is Harry's elder child, Prince Archie. Next in line after Prince Archie is his younger sister, Princess Lilibet.
Former Prince Andrew is 8th in the line of succession. After Andrew is his eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, then her four children and then Andrew's youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie.
An Act of Parliament is being considered to remove Andrew from the line of succession. His daughters, however, would remain and actually move up in the line of succession.
