Why is it mostly moderates calling for Biden to step aside, whereas the left wing mostly supports him continuing the race?

@Burnley123 No one says they do. The Squad represents the far left in this country, such as it is. Although, AOC was just expelled from the Democratic Socialists of America for not criticizing Israel harshly enough.

It;s a bit of a contradiction. The most radical left in the country is on union picket lines or anti-war demonstrations. Yes, she might be on the far left on Congress but has one foot in with the Democratic establishment. That's probably why she is sticking with Biden.

Out of interest, where do you stand on the Biden issue?

@Burnley123 The Squad isn't the furthest left in the country; they're the furthest left in Congress. Just as Comer, MTG, Gaetz, etc. are the furthest right in Congress but not the country. It's difficult for a real extremist to win an election and most of them have no respect for the electoral process anyway.

Biden has done a great job and replacing him because of one bad debate performance is stupid. It's too late to pick anyone else anyway. Only Harris would have access to his funding and campaign infrastructure, and she's an even worse campaigner than he is. And a contentious brokered convention would just feed the narrative of "desperate Democrats in disarray." Anyone they picked would have a microscope on them and would spend the next few months defending themselves. This would draw attention away from Trump's legal issues and the horrific Project 2025 and Agenda 47.

If Biden was going to drop out, it should have been a year ago. It's too late to switch now and this whole argument is a waste of energy. It's not like Trump is all there but you don't hear Republicans demanding his replacement.

@Burnley123 The 10-15% of undecided/third party voters breaking his way as more information comes out about Project 2025 and Agenda 47, along with Judge Chutkan's hearings right before the election, which will be as bad as a trial. Nothing is guaranteed, either way it will be a very close election decided by a handful of voters in a few states.

@LeopoldBloom And just so you know: Republicans have stopped doing Biden attack adds and European policy makers dre preparing for a Trump Presidency.

@Burnley123 Also, big dollar donors to the Biden campaign contributed substantially less in June than they did in May. We may also see the DNC shift money from the presidential race to congressional ones. If the Democrats can win a House majority, all Trump will be able to do in a second term is appoint judges.
