Why is it mostly moderates calling for Biden to step aside, whereas the left wing mostly supports him continuing the race?

I consider myself left wing, not moderate, but I want President Biden to step aside.

I don't know whether that's true. If it is, it's probably because Biden protects them and a successor might not do so. There may even be some extreme left-wingers who would like to see Trump win, though they wouldn't say so.

@Theyitis Because they would expect the awfulness of a Trump presidency (as they would see it) to play into the hands of the extreme left and strengthen their position for next time - as to some extent the first Trump presidency did.

@MartinII That's accelerationism. People said the same thing about George W. Bush, that electing him would be so horrible, the people would have no choice but to rise up in revolution and establish a socialist worker's paradise.

These people are delusional. If there is a revolution in this country and the federal government collapses, it will be like Syria on steroids - small fiefdoms ruled by local warlords.
